Just curious why you are changing injectors, can we assist in troubleshooting or do you know you have a problem. We don't like seeing people throw parts and money away without trying to help.

Depressurize fuel system, pull fuse for fuel pump and try to start car, let run until it dies (2-3 seconds at most)
Remove bolt on top of SC
Remove fuel lines if desired (cheap line release tools are in most parts stores)
Unplug each injector electrical connector
Remove any wires etc in the way of the fuel rail
Remove 4 nuts, one on each corner of fuel rail, holding it to the LIM
Gently pull up around each injector to get them out of head
Gently position rail to get to injectors and being careful with fuel lines so they do not get bent and broken
Remove clip holding injector in
Pull out injector

Assembly is reverse except push into heads

Well my other posts will show I've has chugging issues. I changed spark plugs, wirel coils. It's also thrown out codes for cylinder 3 misfire like three times now. Also got a po420 took it to the shop they replaced the cat. It now has po137. Which is low voltage. I checked all the codes online and Each one roughly points to a bad injector. ALSO I may or not have ran out gas too .:l

Oh they replaced that cat , Was due to the o2 sensor levels. Afterwards it ran great...until I tried accelerating uphill..then threw the po137...aka low voltage bank 1 sensor 2. Still chugs but not as bad

You could still try and change the ICM, which is what the coils sit on.

As for injectors, I'd try to swap the injectors from bank 1 to bank 2. See if the low voltage code follows them to bank 2.

They reason I think it is the cylinder 3 injector is because I ran 2 bottles of Chevron fuel injector cleaner through it, and it helped quite abit. Now it mainly chugs going up hills. When I stomp on the pedal, it doesn't chug but it doesn't feel the same when I first bought it.

I agree with this.

That sounds like an ICM issue to me. I'd get that checked before bothering to mess with the injectors.

Is there a way to test the ICM before buying it?

I personally do not know of a way short of swapping another. I'd go to a junk yard and get one. No sense in buying one new. Pretty sure you can use an ICM from an NA car so there's literally no way you couldn't find one.

Could be. Did you test the ICM though?

If you don't know when the last time the fuel filter was changed, you might as well do it. It's cheap and easy.

I havnt yet..payday is this Friday and I pick up the icm the following monday. And I have no clue if the filter has been replaced or not...mileage is 159xxx

I would also start with a fuel filter and test the fuel pressure at the rail.. that will tell you if you are having problems with the Pump/regulator. it should hold solid on key on (engine off) and when the chugging happens it should also stay solid ~52psi. if the fuel pressure dips when this occurs then you are most likey looking at a pump but could the regulator as well.

I had a ICM go bad on my last 3800 as well as a fuel pump. test the pressure, most stores will rent you a fuel pressure gauge if you dont have one and refund you the $$ when you bring it back. but definatly get a new filter in there, if its bad it will kill the pump. if you need a new pump check amazon or rock auto for a Delphi pump/sending unit.. I did mine and has been great sense.

I would also inspect the O2 sensor connections and wire to make sure they are not damaged/melted... If you are getting a P0137 that is the post cat sensor... it only reads the efficiency of the cat... my guess is the cat is failing or the sensor is bad. if your cat is becoming plugged then you will get some performance issues... if you have a laser temp gun you should get a ~130-150 increase in temp from the front to the back of the cat.. if you have a way to scan the car you should see the 2nd O2 bounce up and down in voltage... if it stays pretty steady or not read then something is wrong... cat or sensor.

I just had the cat replaced not less then a month ago and I do have the po137. BUT I borrowed a better scanner from a friend and I found out I have a p1811 (If remembered correct) which I believe the pcm is sensing a slip in the tranny...could I just be looking in the wrong area for the chugging

yes. have a good trans shop look it over and diagnose issue... could be a the slipping is what you are feeling.. sometimes its as easy as replacing a solenoid or the filter and fluid.

Well today I replaced the fuel filter and the ICM. and boom feels like new again. Also it doesn't chug nor does it shift hard...so I guess that's a bonus Thanks for the help.

So I plan on cleaning my injectors this weekend. It would be safe to assume that I can follow the guidelines of removal and reinstallation above right?

No real meed to pull them unless there is a problem. Sounds like the filter did it's job.

Just run a quality fuel and avoid the generic stations. If you want you could add some fuel system cleaner to the tank.

These cars have a plastic tank and not prone to the rust like the older ones. The dirt blocking the filter most likely came from the fuel used.

To answer your question, yes you can remove the injectors with above. You will not be able to clean much. The injector holes are very tiny and you will not see much.
