I have been reading through the forums and I am glad to see that I am not the omly person who is having problems with the transmission shifting hard after a while of driving. There is a code on the transmission that says 4th Gear Longshift or something to that wording. After taking it to several shops I have been told that the transmission needs to be rebuilt for 2000 dollars. But I am hoping to fix the problem by first changing the fluid and the filter on my own. And if that doesnt help I have seen that a Thrasher shift kit may fix the problem. I would like to hear any other comments from you guys as to what steps could or should be taken. Thanx in advance.

Well if your trans is going out chances are changing the trans fluid will only prolong the inevitable. or it could make things worse . when i needed head gaskets i got a oil change and a pressure test . as soon as i started the car it was a problem #-o but anyway save your money and start looking for a used trans or rebuild (It better) :beerchug:

Before changing the fluid and filter, put in a can of Seafoam's Trans Tune. If you are thinking of a shift kit, may as well do that when you change the fluid, too.
