I've had this car for 8 years now and the steering has always been weird. This is my third Bonneville and all three had the same feeling with the steering wheel clicking. But this is the first car that the steering sticks then hardens then breaks lock up during max speed of 15 on a turn the breaks lock up on there own and tires smoke till it stops. This started happening around the end of summer last year. Took to 3 different companies including the dealership explaining this. They thought I was hallucinating when they took it for a test drive and nothing was wrong then they put it on the ABS machine and no codes came up. We did new break pads, wheel sensor, and break flush ourselves and it seemed to work fine till today. My wife had to go an hour out of town with her elderly father and turned into a parking area at 10 mph and all of the symptoms came back. After locking up 4 times trying to get back on the main road to come home. Nothing happened on the 75mph freeway but she is not driving it till we figure out what is going on. Anyone with any kind of help would be appreciated. Forgot to mention the service stabilizing system has been coming on when the steering sticks then right after the breaks lock up.

Where are you located? Sounds like the dealership didn't know what to look for if they couldn't find any codes.
