I noticed that the reservoir tank on my 01 ssei was empty,,so I added some prestone 50/50 (I know that it didn't have DEX COOL).
2 days after I noticed that it was rough on idle. I have been told that any time coolant is added, there is a "air release"? screw that needs to be loosen in order to let air out,, and that this might be why the car is rough on idle. Where is this "screw" at??? Please help.!!!
Thank you.

It is on the thermostat housing. Where the upper radiator hose connects to the engine.

I think I know now which one it is,, (round top, sticking out on top where the "big hose" connects to the engine.?). So how do I do this.?

With the car running, I unscrew this "valve" (without unscrewing it out all the way?)??
Do I add more coolant to the reservoir tank??
Do I just let it run, without adding coolant??? for how long??

Please excuse my ignorance about this...your help is GREATLY appreciated.!

Make sure there is plenty of coolant in the overflow tank. When the cooling system is pressurized (usually when warm) you crack it open. Any air in the system will then come out, followed by coolant (which will be scalding hot, so be careful). Once you are getting coolant, and not air, you shut it. When the engine cools, the system should draw coolant back in, in place of the air that was just released.

If there is no evidence of air in the system, this is usually not necessary however, and air will usually work itself out of the system in most cases, just keep the overflow level up until it levels off.

Did you remove the radiator cap, when engine was cooled down, and fill the radiator and then fill the reservoir?

If the radiator was low also, you need to be really interested in where the coolant is going. The answer could be the water pump is seeping, the bypass tube o-rings are seeping, the throttle body gasket and/or the lower intake manifold gasket is leaking, are possibilities. You can check those after the engine is thoroughly hot, so that it's under pressure, and the engine is off. Look for drips on the ground that aren't the AC dripping.

When the radiator level has dropped and then is filled, run the engine on a drive long enough to heat it up and then run the motor at 2500 in park for 10 seconds or so. Then repeat 4 more times. I like to do this with the radiator uphill from the windshield where the heater core is. Doing this gets air out of the heater core.

Then when engine cools recheck level in radiator. Fill. Fill reservoir. Then bleed the air from the thermostat housing when the engine is warmed up so there's some pressure from the cap. I don't do it with the engine hot, just warmed up.

Watch coolant levels for signs of trouble.

Have the mechanic put in cheaper quality 10W-30 oil. Drive for a hundred miles and then change it again with new filter. This will pick up the coolant that is in the oil sump from the leak.
