My 2004 Bonneville SE was totaled- 130,000 miles on strong running ex CA. State under cover patrol car (possibly chipped?).
I purchased a cherry 2002 SSEi (105,000 mi.)with spun rod bearing for $1325.00
Can I take my 2004 3.8 N/A engine (and transmission)and swap for the supercharged?
I know it will be a step down in performance - i'm looking at saving money.
Is leaving the SSEi tranny in place an option?
What about axles?
The computer will have to come over with the new engine - what about the wiring harness?
How much of the harness would have to be changed? - What about the interior functions like climate control etc. - the SE didn't have climate control or all the other bells and whistles in the interior.
My other choice is to buy a long block or crank.
I can't find other posts that address these specific issues - if anyone could direct me there it would be appreciated. I'm open for suggestions.
