Looking to upgrade my front motor mount but the hockey puck mount looks like a solid mount to me. Wonder if anyone has done a complete swaybar end link setup? Hockey puck only has give in one direction while swaybat endlink gives in compression and tension.

Ive bee thinking the same thing but a sway link is pretty little. I doubt it would last long under the torque of an engine. Ive been considering poly scrub bar bushings for a circle track car.

I used Energy sway bar endlink bushings when I built mine and it seemed to cause more vibration as compared to other cars that have them. Swamp did his new one with a boat trailer roller and I am thinking I will try that or go back to a regular mount. To much vibration for me some times. Regular old worn out endlink bushings is what most people use with little complaints, but the Energy's feel like rocks and seem to hard IMO.

I did find my steering rack bolts loose a couple of weeks ago..... not sure if there is any correlation between the two.

I will say that I do have much more power at the wheels and my take off is better. This is our highway car so we don't use low end that much. The cause for complaint comes when cruising at a low speed and it is at 1500-1800 rpm, which is the sweet spot for major vibration on the wheel.

I have replaced the stock mount once 2 years ago and it is coming apart again. My car is actually my daily driver to and from work and gets very little highway. That kit has different sizes and i bought the "9.8165G Universal End Link; Black; Range; 4 5/8in. To 5 1/8in". with all the grommets and washers I should be able to get something that doesn't pull apart like the stock but isn't solid. We will see.

I have absolutely no vibrations or noticeable changes with my hockey puck mount, ever, in any conditions. Except when I mat the throttle, and it hooks. :P

Ending up buying energy suspension 94102.

Fits 1/2 hardware. I've got a piece of 1/2 all thread and a bunch of washers. We will see how it works.

I understand a lot of people don't have a problem with the hockey puck mount but it bothers me that it is essentially a sold mount. This is way bigger in diameter than end link bushings and it does list engine/transmission mounts.

P.S. The kit includes 2 of everything shown in picture.

Why? You lose nothing, and gain everything. There is still give in the pucks, as they're rubber, and the mount works way better to transfer power.

Also, yours is going to be solid when you accelerate anyways, as it's pulling the bolt tight on the subframe. The only thing that affects the give then is the bushing between the bolt head and the frame, or the mount and the nut up top, versus the stocker which has fluid between the two halves that damps the engine's motion backwards, but also becomes the failure point...

I plan on putting some urethane between subframe and mount and some above mount. I want some give on tension and compression. Will take some pictures as I do it.

There is nothing wrong with the puck mount and yes it is solid. Personally I had a special mount, non puck. On my phone, otherwise I would link to it(if someone could help me with that...). You do get vibs but the positive feel you get from the car OUTWEIGHS the little bit of vibration you get. Trust me!!!!

I have an old swaybar endlink bushing between the bolt head and the subframe, that's my give, and only time there's compression really is in reverse and when it's just sitting, so idk if it's really a big deal...

This. The only time I notice I have the hockey pucks is at 1700 RPM. And that's it.

The bushings or whatever is above the mount bracket does nothing for you.

They compress when you push on them.

You don't have to like it, you don't have to do it, it is a different mount than 3 hockey pucks with a hole drilled in them. Different doesn't mean it's wrong. I think hockey pucks mounts are wrong because they dont give at all in the tension direction where stock mount are the softest.
