Hello everyone, Hoping a few body guys can help me out.

Just picked up a 04 SE a few days ago. It has some small bubbling and rust just starting to show underneath the gas cap. Got a few quotes to fix it and both are pretty much the same. One place will cut out the damage and weld in a new piece of metal with rust proofing on the inside. Another place is going to use fiberglass.

So the question is, which is better? Welded in metal or laid over with fiberglass?

Thanks for the advice. Have an appointment with the metal guys on Monday. They knew what was going on. Before even looking at the car I mentioned it was an 04 Bonneville with rust and they asked, "Below the gas cap?"

If I may ask, what did they quote you (for the metal option)?
