It's on the top of the rear exhaust manifold, in the back of the engine compartment.

There are only 2 O2 sensors. One where Ed said and the other behind the cat. How many did you see on the scanner? There should be a "Bank 1 sensor 1" and "bank 1 sensor 2".

Sensor 1 is where Ed said on the back of the exhaust manifold by the firewall. Sensor 2 is the one behind the cat.

No, it's the downstream, behind the cat. I didn't read closely enough.

Yes.

How many miles on the car? A goofy reading from the rear O2 (read: catalyst) sensor can mean a bad Cat as well.

There is really no need to. Just get a high flow cat. I have seen some not throw a rear O2 code with an aftermarket cat. Mine did though. But deleting the cat alltogether is a sure fire way to throw a code.

Say I just delete it, is there any other negatives besides throwing a code?

Where do you live? Check local laws, it may not be legal for emissions or inspection purposes.
Anyone else want to chime in with anything I may be forgetting at the moment?

What do you mean by "do exhaust"? Its full stainless already and very hard to out flow stock exhaust. a down pipe and hiflo cat would be choice first moves. Mufflers only change sound, stock ones are very free flowing.

i was thinking about doing a larger diameter exhaust all the way back. Is this a waste of time? The stock exhaust really flows that well? Why is the downpipe so restrictive?
