Could going through 2 sets of spark plug wires in 4 years be bad? I have been having some severe misfires lately.

I'm wondering if I might have something wrong with my engine. In March 2008, I put a set of Bosch on (yes, I know, shouldn't have, but that was the only thing I could get in town at the time, and I needed my car back on the road), and over the course of 2 years, wires for number 1 and 4 went bad. So, in summer of 2010 I put on a set of MSD wires. Now, the wires for cylinders 2, 3, and 5 have gone bad (tested with known working wires). With the wires replaced, my misfires go away. I could put another new set on, but how long before one or more of those go bad?

So, could this mean a deeper problem? Or do I just have bad luck?

I go through a set of AL104's a year. I always get a random misfire, and new plugs always solves it.

Jake, he said MSD wires.

Is this the LeSabre? or the Ei?

Sorry, forgot to mention the car. This is for the SSEi. The wires and plugs have maybe around 15,000 miles on them. The spark plugs are NGK Iridium. Now, I just swapped the ignition module from my mom's 97 LeSabre on the Bonneville, and will be giving the car a try here in a few moments, just to see if there is any change.

I'll update on what happens.

Just got done taking the car out (I did have a cop look at me strange, as he probably knew that loud whine echoing through the trees in the distance was me).

Cylinders 2 and 3 had misfires, but the most I got this time were 2 misfires on #2, and 4 misfires on #3 (none on #5). Before I swapped the module, I was getting up to 64 misfires on #3.

Now, I'm not going to say that may have fixed it. But, I will see how long this might hold up tomorrow, so probably no more testing until after I get home from work tomorrow (around 5pm EST).
