I acquired a TransGo shift kit and will be installing it in The Limo soon. The instructions aren't exactly making full sense to me, and I was wondering exactly what goes where, in terms of springs, spacers etc. Also how much fluid will I need to replace what I lose when I drop the pan? I'll change the filter too, since I go every 20k on Pan drop and filter, and it's due as of now. Any other tips/tricks are appreciated!

Sell it and do this one -I have it in 2 cars and have put it in numerous other cars, both solving majorly sluggish shifts and simply quickening/firming up the shifts.

It's the same amount of fluid as a normal pan-drop and filter.

I have never done the Trans-Go, but I did the Intense kit in my car. LeSabre in Buffalo (Dave) did a write-up on the Trans-Go: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=18722&p=199146

14 quarts is if you do a DIY "flush" which is 2 pan drops and filters. Just one pan drop and filter is 7 quarts.

If I get the Wix filter should I get the kit or just the filter? I remember something about the gasket on our trans pans being reusable. :dontknow:

Just ordered the Wix filter from O'Reilly's, picked up 7 qts of Valvoline Dexron III. I will be installing this Saturday. Wish me luck!

Stock gasket is re-usable. I'd have just bought 2 - 1 gallon jugs of trans fluid.

Just finished install. Followed Dave's wrietup and used the extra spring in the 1-2. I like how it feels now. It shifts much firmer, but not in an alarming fashion. Kickdown shift times, along with upshift times are much quicker, I can tell that.

I can tell you right now you'll want to. It's not bang screech or anything, just a little bit firmer. Shifts like a 4T60E would. No extra bs between gears, just rev, shift, rev like it should be.
