The fuel return line just rotted above the fuel filter and about 2' replaced to get back to good material. Looking at the lines by the ABS module, they don't look a whole lot better. Has anyone had any luck coating the lines with something to keep them from getting any worse?

I admire you for going through all that work but I'm hoping to avoid having to do that. I may try either spray undercoating on the basis that I have nothing to lose unless someone else adds something that I hadn't thought of.

POR or some other brand of paint-over rust paint would probably help, but ultimately new lines are probably your best bet...

BTW, Lucas didn't do that, lol. He just posted it for you, lol.

I had an 83 Lincoln that I went through this with, except for me the lines failed at the wrong time. I ended up buying a guy a new tailgate and bumper for his truck.

Not to be negative but here is some food for thought.

This is something that you do not want to ignore or not fix "properly." Brake lines can have a tremendous amout of pressure on them. If you look at the compression fittings that local parts shops carry most say "not for brake line useage." these are usually the brass ones. In comparison, Fuel lines have a fraction of the pressure as a brake line dose when you have to stop in a hurry. As with all things metal, once it starts to corrode, its hard to stop. and its a matter of when not if they fail. The results could be catastrophic...
