I've seen post of fuel door area rot which luckily hasn't been an issue for me yet. However where the filler neck passes thru the wheel well where there is a black plastic cover has rotted thru on mine. Apparently dirt and water gets inside that cover and sits and rots out that area of the wheel well. Anybody else have this problem?

I can't say I have noticed rust in this location on mine...not sure if I understand exactly where you mean though.

I haven't noticed any rust around the fuel door..and hoping to keep it that way!

Inside the rear wheelwell. Follow the filler neck into where it passes thru the frame. There is a black plastic cover around the pipe. If u remove the cover there is a pocket that harbors dirt and moisture. And caused rot thru on mine.

mine did ther too... bad, had to cut out the section, remove all the plastic/foam and re-epoxy on a new peice and bondo it out, clean the whole door and clean inside the fuel door area. my filler neck started to rot through too so the check engine light wont turn off because it wont seal.

another bad spot is under the hood, the peice infront of where the strut top sticks out, just infront of there in the corner... both sides on mine are clean through, 2000 SE
