Sucks but i was tuning and during one of the reflashes my laptop crashed (Blue screen of death...) and now the car does not start... no crank. everything powers up but wont start. I have a stock 1999 GTP ECU, i swapped in and same results... I try reflashing my tune to the 99 ecu and it says its not a compatible ecu for the file upload (or something like that).

I assume the 99 ecu is not going to work in the 2000 ecu? or is there something else i should be looking at?

I had something similar happen when I somehow lost power on our Duramax using my Diablo. Did you try flashing the tune back to stock? That worked for me.

Also, did you remove the fuse for the radio circuit? These Bonnes are really picky about tuning...

i did try the stock tune and no on the fuse. i turn off the radio and have flashed many times without pulling a fuse.... why exactly does the radio fuse need to be pulled?

and on car-part.com it shows 2000-1 ecus are interchangeable but bot 99 to 2000 :(

Too much stuff on the Class II data-bus can cause issues when trying to tune. Remove the fuses for your radio, CD Changer, everything you can that's on that bus that's not needed.

ok, swapped ECU, reflashed to correct bin... no start. i checked the fuses and relays and all look good (under hood and rear seat). So i need to relearn the key or something? everything powers up just no start. the rear relay clicks when i turn the key but no start... any ideas? i can read and open the ecu bin i just flashed and the ECU has the same part numbers as the original one.

Thanks in advance

What are the odds your starter is bad? Try jumping the terminals with an insulated handle screwdriver with the key on. I wonder if the tune is just a red herring...

found a link for key programming, it says i need to do a key program if i replace the pcm..
viewtopic.php?f=18&t=20594&p=216287&hilit=program+key#p216287

i can try, i have not had a single issue with the starter... but at this point its worth a shot.

It's the first half of the quoted text in haro's post in that thread. It's easiest to do with the window down and the car in the garage, reaching in through the window.
