When i bought my 03 Bonneville, it did not come with a keyless remote. i was going to buy a remote off of ebay and get it programed to my car. can you do it yourself or does a dealer have to do it? i read somewhere that you can do it yourself by using a jumper wire and pressing the remote unlock and lock button, stuff like that. But i didn't know if it would work for my specific car.

On these cars it's dealer only, unfortunately. Might as well get 2 while you're at it...

how much does the dealer usually charge for this service?

When I got mine, they gave me a second remote and programmed it for free. But I know (knew) people there.
Haven't used it since getting my Viper alarm put in...
