 Post subject: Transmission Shifting

2002 Pontiac Bonneville

Sometimes but not always when my transmission shifts gears it seems there is a jerking action going on. I replaced both the front and rear motor/transmission mounts and it appeared to fix the problem, but it came back after a day or two. Please help!

Does it do it more when it's heated up? Get it scanned, if code P1811 comes up, you'll need to replace the Pressure Control Solenoid in the transmission. Not something for average joe in his driveway, though...

Most code readers will not find the P1811 code, so you'll have to go somewhere other than just an auto parts store. If that code is set, another option instead of replacing the PCS is to install a shift kit.
