I am new to the forum but had a question I was hoping I could get some help with. I am in the middle of revamping my 2000 SE. It have been going through a lot the last few years and many things have gotten back burnered that shouldn't have. Most of the work I have done myself but some I couldn't. First question is if anyone has a Step By Step for replacing the Tranny oil cooler lines. I got them from GMdirect, but I am a little nervous about this one.

Second big problem I am dealing with is a pretty bad shake. New tires, rotors, brakes, rear shocks, motor mounts and still just shaking myself down the highway. It starts at about 45 and varies intensity. Any thoughts on what to check next? it is driving me crazy! My wife just doesn't get why it bugs me that bad. When you at one time could go 90 with out even realizing it....then even a little shake gets to you. Anyway, any help on these 2 issues would be greatly appreciated.

Get some flare-nut or line wrenches and have fun. They should be plug-and-play. You might want to have a pan handy to catch the fluid. It also is a good time to drop the pan to replace the filter, clean off the magnet, and replace ~6 quarts of ATF.

The lines should be pretty easy. Take your time, do 1 at a time, and take pictures.

Learn from the mistakes of others, that way when you mess up you can do so in new and interesting ways.

Both ends of the cooling lines use quick connect fittings. There will be a white retaining ring around the end. Move that back, and you'll see the wire clip. Use a small flat blade screw driver, and/or a hook to remove it. They can go flying, so keep track of it while removing. Have a drain pan ready to catch the fluid. Put the new lines in, install the clips and white retaining ring, then check your fluid level.

As for the shake, it's become a fairly common complaint with the 2000+s, with no one solution found so far.

Archon- How can this be....No solution for the shake? I posted what I have already done that was needed in hopes for it to go away. Next thing I am checking is that the wheels are all still true. I can't think of anything in the powertrain that would cause this since it is front wheel drive. I know my front Tie Rods need replacing but the shops have all assured me that those wouldn't cause the shake. Any other thoughts???

Many have spent a lot of money trying to find a solution to the problem. This is another current thread regarding the problem. It will give you an idea of what has been tried.
