After driving in all kinds of situations, ie. city, highway, bumper to bumper, etc., since Saturday, it appears my issue in 3rd and 4th gear is not completely corrected, but so much better than it was before the drain, filter and refill. There is only an occasional studder, much less noticeable than before. I'm thinking of draining it again in a week or so to see if it goes away completely. It certainly seems to be on the right track.

Did you try some seafoam transtune in there? Maybe throw a can in a few days before your next pan drop and filter.

Try a cleaner like the Trans Tune or the Auto-RX (I really like the Auto-RX, BTW), then change the fluid again.

I put Sea Foam Trans Tune in before the fluid and filter change, and I added some after the change.
What do you think the Pressure Control Solenoid would cost?

Solenoid is $45 or so, but you have to drop the subframe to get at it. Not something you can do in your driveway unless you're an extremely well versed mechanic, which I'm assuming you're not. This isn't something I want to attempt by myself, and I have a relatively well equipped shop to work in.

You are so right about my abilities, Willing, but not Necessarilly Able! :helpsmilie:
I'm noticing the shudder mostly in 3rd. gear now, but not all the time. That's why I'm hoping the fluid and filter change, along with the Sea Foam, did some good, and maybe another round will do the trick.

The DIY shift kit supposedly helps with pressure control solenoid issues. It does mechanically what the PCS does electronically.

I installed the DIY shift kit myself, and it made my transmission much smoother. Most of the time I forget it's been kitted.

Well after about 500 miles of driving, I've pumped out another 3 quarts of trans fluid and added another 1/2 can of Sea Foan Trans Tune and I'm not having any problems so far.
I guess it needed a good cleaning, fresh fluid, and filter.
My thanks to all for the advice and helpful tips. I'm declaring this issue solved! :beerchug:
