i was admiring the beauty of the bonneville today and was thinking wow it would look great if it was just a little lower. does anyone know of lowering kits or different springs that will work? looking for an inch or so.

They'd have to be custom made. There aren't off-the-shelf lowering springs like what's available for a 4th Gen F-Body, or something like that.

Cutting springs will mess up the spring rate. Youd have to have custom units. Coil springs are relatively cheap to have made. Its on my list of things to do as well.

It is a very bad idea on struts, as it would no longer mount correctly, and would cause damage.

There are many companies that would make custom springs. Eibach is one off the top of my head, IIRC they make custom springs.

Check locally for spring making companys, theres a few here around the chicago area that i would trust. You dont necessarilly have to go with a big name company.

Can't cut the springs on these cars anyway. They won't mount afterward. So far I think we have found that the 98-99 Cadillac STS springs are the same as the Bonnie and there are off the shelf kits for these, but I don't think many have tried it at all. I was going to, but I already drag the ground in a few places around town that I need to get to on a regular basis, so I think that plan is out the door for me.
