When I turn my car off, after being on the road with the AC on, I hear a squealing, chirping sound. It sounds like birds chirping. I finally figured out that it is the two powered cooling fans as they wind down after turning the car off. I can not figure out how to get some silicon or something in there to lubricate the things where they are squeaking. Any ideas on what I can do to quite them down?
Thanks,

Bill

I haven't looked at it, but i notice this too (I have my fans programmed to stay off a minute or so after the car is shut off when it is over 180*) and they squeak the whole time. I can't hear it when i'm driving and they seem to work fine with no wobbling, so i haven't messed with it.

Same here. Curious. Why do you have them programmed to stay OFF when it's OVER 180? Wouldn't you want them ON?

Those are usually made with sealed bearings. You can either put up with the noise, try to disassemble them, or replace them. There is no real easy way to get to the bearings since they are sealed to keep the water out.

I guess as long as it all works, and the car doesn't run hot, the sound doesn't bother me. I just was hoping it's not a problem developing. Do you think I should just not worry about it?

Thanks,
Bill
