Used to do this every once in a while now it is happening almost all of the time. When i get up to highway speed the overdrive kicks off and wont return until I throw it in neutral, shut off the car an restart it. It comes back momentarily but then kicks out again. Sounds to me like something electrical? any thoughts???? thanks!

How many miles do you have on your car? I started to experience that with my 94 as the TCC wouldn't always lock up. I was able to monitor lockup and tranny temps with my scanner and it would hover around 200 in the summer. Last summer we did a tranny pan drop and filter change using Dex VI. I also installed an auxillary fan on my tranny cooler that is hooked up with a high speed fan override control so I can turn on my fans well before the 205+ turn on command by the computer. So far so good, temperatures have stayed around 165-175 with my mod and fluid change and the lockup has been pretty consistent. That's my 2 cent experience. All this with 162k miles.

After a drive, please inspect your fluid level, color, and smell, and describe each as distinctly as possible.

Is it setting a code?

Mine was doing this last year, it set a PO740 code.
I had to replace the TCC apply valve. Apparently it's a very common problem with the 4T60E trans, maybe the 4T65E also.
