My starter went out this morning as she was getting hard to start. She won't turn over now and she's smokin'! Are any other years compatible to the supercharged 94 that would be an upgrade or should I just stick to a lifetime Autozone one?

Thanks for the info. I was wondering if later model starters 96+ would fit and be of any "upgrade" due to any redesign like putting in a late model 3400 starter into an earlier 3.1.

I have not dealt with the 96-99 starters, so I don't know if there was a redesign or just an added torque issue.

Is the starter for your SSEi or something else? SSEi's use a gear-reduced starter with more torque. Other starters will work, but are not preferred, and will very likely have a reduced lifetime.

Yes, it's for the 94 SSEi. So, physically, all 3.8 starters would fit but an SSEi specific starter would be best then because of the added torque, and specifically from the 94-95 model year. Just wondering if the S2 L67 starters would fit and have any advantage to the S1 L67 starters. Thanks Will.
