I am doing a little light troubleshooting.

If I disconnect the knock sensor, will a 92 L67 run like normal, or does the sensor need grounded?

I don't know the answer but I know my 95 has two base spark maps one for high and one for low octane. I know on other manufactures, if there is an issue with the knock sensor it'll default to pulling timing. If I had to guess, disconnecting the knock sensor on your L67 would default to a lower map.

I'm assuming you're troubling shooting the sensor but if you're not, you can always scan WOT runs and compare the peak timing advance between plugged in and unplugged.

Not sure if 92/93 has a high or low octane map. I might find out.

I'm actually trying to figure out mid throttle and rpm knock. It's quite a bit, actually. I can power through it with enough pedal to get a downshift, or I gotta let off. It does not dump boost.

Wanted to try to ignore KR to see what happens.

If you unplug the O2 sensor it forces it into open loop and ignores the knock sensor.

I think it behaves the same way before it warms up, but I'll give it a shot.

It does NOT misbehave in open loop.
