So I inherited the car from my grandmother and I can't find the keys even after clearing the house out. I've spent a little time trying to get it figured and I have bought a pack of VATS bypass resistors off Amazon, and have tried all of them on the connectors from the ignition with no success I don't have the original key to measure its resistance through the pellet but I can turn the ignition so I'm halfway there yes? I need to move the car ASAP or it risks being towed to the junkyard. When the car was parked at ran perfectly fine so I know if I can get to VATS bypassed lit'll start right up

Stop in at a GM dealer with the VIN and proof of ownership and they'll be able to look up which of the 15 key blanks it used. Then you'll be able to install the correct resistor without having to guess and check.

Across town is all? The closest one for me is 30 miles away. At least call them up and explain the situation and they may offer to help you. Might need to try a few different dealers.

If you can't go the easier dealer route, you could get a VATS ignition cylinder and keys off ebay, guess on the value then bypass it if the value is wrong. At least you'll have a key for the column at that point.
