My headlights will not turn off after turning off the car. They will stay on draining the battery. If I disconnect the battery and reconnect they go off.
I removed the BCM and the RVM I think it is called and they still stay on.
If I remove the parking light fuse the parking lights go off and if I remove the large headlight fuse under the hood the headlights go off.
I have not been able to find a headlight relay.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
Bill

Try adjusting the twilight sentinel knob at the base of the headlight switch and if that doesn't work, pull the switch assembly out and look for melted areas at the plug. These switches are often faulty.

Thank you 95naSTA.
I forgot to mention that the first thing I did was to buy a new headlight switch and replace that.
It seems like a relay is sticking somewhere but I have not been able to find it.
I bought this car new in 1996 and it has never been wrecked. Have kept it in good shape and I hate to lose it to this problem.
I have search everywhere for the location of the headlight relay with no luck.
Thanks,
Bill

Are you sure the headlight switch harness wasn't melted? It can cause connection issues.

Otherwise, check this out: https://www.justanswer.com/car/1kina-m1 ... n-off.html

After fighting with this a long time and replacing a perfectly good headlight switch, I located the LCM, lighting control module, inside center of the firewall, got the number, bought a used one and the problem was fixed.

The car is back on the road. Paint is not great and needs an ac compressor and new body mounts but is good for now. I am also chasing a water leak which isn’t the sun roof drains but is getting the drivers side floor wet. My daughter is very happy to be driving the car.

Use the forum frequently for insights to the problems.

That's good to hear.

I wish Jrs3800' post on water leaks still had active pics. He did a lot of troubleshooting in that regard.

Yeah I have been reading that page. The pics sure would have helped. I was going to attack the windshield wiper entrance and the gutter strips first.

A bit worried what I will find when I go to take the body mounts loose.
