1999 Bonneville SLE
Hi All,

I have a 1999 Bonneville SLE. Recently the contacts inside the turn signal lever began malfunctioning resulting in problems with the wiper cycle. Turn signal and cruise functions work fine.

I purchased a new oem stalk (ac delco) and following the service manual I removed the old stalk by simply pulling it straight out. It popped out with some force, but nothing appears broken.

The problem Im having is the new stalk will not fully seat into the socket. It clicks in to what seems to be a first stop, but will not fully seat so that the wiper functions will work. I tried seating the original stalk and that one will not fully seat either.

Am I missing something here?

A picture of the old and new might help. I'm picturing the stalk for my 92, and there's no way just pulling it out wouldn't destroy something.
