Mine's a 97 Bonneville 3800 Series II

I noticed that RockAuto.com shows 2 different types of Transmission Speed Sensors, one with an O-ring & mounting bracket, and one without.

I wonder which is correct.

Amazon.com shows that it depends on the Transmission model.

I could either pull the passenger wheel, crawl underneath and pull the old one to find out.

Or somehow find out if the tranny is a 4T60-E, 4T65-E or a 4T65-E-HD.

Anyone know where the ID tag is on the tranny?

Your 97 has a 4t60-e.

92-96 SSEi has 4t60-hd
92-97 SE/SSE/SLE (non s/c) has 4t60-e
97+ SSEi has 4t65-hd
98+ SE/SSE/SLE (non s/c) has 4t65-e

The transmission speed sensor has a bracket and o-ring and is the same for the 65 and the 60.

Sorry, mine's a 97 SE and the Transmission Speed Sensor doesn't have the o-ring and mounting bracket.

I haven't replaced it yet, and now I don't think I need to.

If I find the ID tag for the transmission, I'll post a pic of it.
