Year and Trim: 95 Pontiac Bonneville
HELP!!!! I am gonna cry!!! we bought a 95 Bonneville & the transmission went in it within a month! never even put the plates on it!! So we bought a damaged 94 Bonneville, that we took the transmission out of & its at the shop right now... we just noticed that the key tag says 92 and double checked the door, yep it's a 92!! I'm afraid this guy totally screwed us!! Can anyone tell me if a 92 is compatible with a 95???
thanks

yes, I believe it will be if the trim matches, the supercharged engines need a different one than the lower models. the tranny place would have told you already if it wont work.

...might be tricky, the 95 model year was a one year only for a lot of things with OBD1.5 in the mix. I know that you have to put a 95 transmission in a 95 Chevy Astro.

I don't believe you can just drop a '92 trans into a '95. It will mount in and bolt down fine, but there were slight differences in the controls internally. I think the main difference would be the torque converter apply strategy (extra solenoid on the 95) which is not compatible. I don't know if the harness is different. It might bolt in and plug in fine, but you would have issues and a check engine light for the TCC, and reduced gas mileage.

Both the 92 and 95 Bonneville 4T60E use the PWM strategy... But they are wired differently internally... I really wouldn't go backwards from 94- 95 to 92, but I would go forward like 96 and or 97 as the 4T60E was improved for those years.. the 94-97 4T60E for the H body is wired the same.. 92-93 is wired differently..
