So my car's got an evap leak and has managed to stink up the garage.
I bought the car a little more than a week ago (Aug 12) with the leak. Engine light is on. I did not notice any smell while looking at the car at the time and didn't smell anything on the roughly 2 hour drive home. Looking underneath the car I do not see any signs of gas leaking out. The car hasn't been driven or started since that day.
What would be some cheap and/or easy things to replace or check to try and figure out where it's leaking from?
Also, if i were to clear the code, how long would it take to come back if it wasn't fixed?

hi, I would first smell around the car - you probably wont see a leak - puddle of gas. it is evap, so you will be sniffing for fumes.

if the smell is not coming from engine bay, you can start the car. clear the code and drive a bit till you smell the fumes - stop and locate the leak.
