I'm hoping this will be obvious to you guys, but I think I have an Upper Intake Manifold gasket leak and just wanted your confirmation. It's very hard to see where the fluid is actually coming out from, but here's a photo of where want would seem to be coolant is dripping down onto:


It's only a drip at the moment, but how urgent is this? Is it likely to get worse quickly? Any other possible causes if not UIM gasket?

Well, you don't really have an upper intake gasket, or an upper intake. The supercharger gasket takes its place on the SC 3800, and coolant only flows through it on the other side of the engine.

Your possibilities here are:
Lower intake gasket
Water pump
Water pump gasket
Radiator hose (seen on the left)
Head gasket (rarely are these an issue on 3800s)
Front cover gasket

The water pump and gasket are pretty new - they were only replaced last year. It seems to be dripping down from a height - I would have thought too high for the lower intake? Radiator hose appears to be fine.

If you stick your fingers up in the small gap between the coil pack and the engine block, next to the first bolt of the exhaust manifold it is damp.
