I have recently rebuilt my 97 se, bored 30 over heads done new exhaust manifolds, basically the works, I have less than 200 miles on her and have been experiencing a p0300 at cruise, determined that it is egr related as the problem goes away with it disconnected, egr is reasonably new but is after market, problem is I live in ca, it will have to be/appear functional to the smog man, any ideas as to how or products available to restrict the flow with out the smog guy seeing it and has to pass a monitor scan and nox measurement on a dyno at the inspection, my only other option will have to focus on getting more fuel which means more new injectors (ouch) really not wanting to spend a whole lot more as the tranny is next

An NA build, even bored over won't need enough fuel for new injectors. You can always delete the EGR and get it tuned for both adding more fuel and deleting the EGR code.

carl, thanx for the response,i think I am leaning towards doing as you suggested, between the bore and the 1.9:1 rockers I think this is the best option, my only worry going this route is the inspection process in ca they connect you to a scanner and dyno test at the same time, also I have heard of a company that will tune a computer however I basicly choose, just not sure if it will go undetected by the engine Nazi's here in ca.do you know of a good source for these computers ?

I'm not familiar with states that have real inspections and how it works.. Haha. Personally, I have a gutted cat and the code was deleted for it. No issues here in IL. The two best computers available short of a custom in car tune are from Intense Racing, and Overkill Motorsports. I have two tunes from the latter, one for 87 octane and one for 93 octane.
