I am in desperate need of a new water pump as it is leaking bad. I took the PS pump off, water pump pully off, removed the drive belt & accessory belts. Now when I got to the engine mount, I put a small piece of 1x6 wood on my jack and jacked up the engine under the oil pan a few inches. However I'm very nervous to remove the engine mount stud as I can't tell if the jack is fully supporting the engine. It feels like the engine is still supported by the mount and I want to take every precaution to prevent serious damage. Any advice for pulling that engine mount to get the water pump bolts out? :helpsmilie:

Unless they changed it later than 92, the engine mount is designed to settle a little but still support the engine if the bolt through the center is removed, so you don't have to worry much until you unbolt either half of the mount from the engine or frame. Use the jack just enough to take the weight off the mount ( a few inches is too much) and remove the bolt, then you can jack the engine up a little to remove the mount attached to the engine. You may have to loosen the bolts for the frame mounted half of the mount to have enough wiggle room.
