Did the basic checks - brake fluid level okay, no sticking brakes, no leaking brakes, pulled up on the parking brake pedal.

Searched a little but no hits or no resolutions posted. I'm thinking that one of the switches could have failed. Are they open circuit when OK switches? As in, if I unplug one the light should go away if it's failed?

edit: looks like your assumption is correct, if you disconnect the switch the light shout go out unless the wiring is shorted to ground somewhere.

looks like the chime control circuit could also turn on the light thru the brake warning diode but should be able to disconnect it somehow.

If you disconnect the harness from the master cylinder it will stop beeping. Did that on my 96 at one point lol
