So I am finally getting sick of this. When the car is warmed up, it starts to sputter heavily when going more than 1/4 - 1/2 throttle, and it pops out of the exhaust, along with bucking, RPM jumps, and near stalling. I have narrowed it down to it only doing it when the car is warmed up, outside temp seems to matter also. I am starting to get sick of it, as I was nearly hit when I went around a car on the highway, and it started doing it, and I was almost hit by a car. Fuel pressure from one of my other posts as follows -

Quote:
Prime 4 times, key on - about 39psi, I would say 40.
At idle - 36-40psi, fluctuates between those numbers.
Idle with the vacuum line off the FPR - 40-44, fluctuates between those numbers.

Anyone know what it is? It's my only means of transportation, and I work 5-6 days a week.

Test the fuel pressure hot. Take it for a drive until it acts up, then test it as fast as you can. Mine acted that way when the fuel pump was dying.

mine also had some of the same issues when my fuel pump was on its way out. i'm sure you've checked your fuel filter right? and made sure the cat isn't clogged? I also got some of those symptoms from a coil pack that tested fine but acted up whenever it got hot.. hope that helps

Did you ever change that fuel pump? I recall you having many issues with the fuel pump (not starting, sputtering around turns)

isn't the 92s notorious for having the baffles broken?

Broken baffles won't change with temp. I've never understood the broken baffle thing. I have experience with three 92's with undersized fuel strainers causing the stalling on turns. None of them had broken baffles. Both require the tank be dropped to fix though.

But when the fuel warms up from cycling over the engine and returning to the tank, the pump loses effectivity.

Alrighty... I went and drove it a little hard... got the coolant temp to 210, outside temp is 91*.

Primed 4 times, key on - 40psi
At Idle after driving hard - Rapidly fluctuates between 30-40, doesn't stay still
FPR line off - 40-48, occasional jolt to 50-52, about every 5 seconds.

The fluctuations are a bad sign.

UPDATE. Did the fuel pressure again, this time the car is stalling when pushed too much into the sputtering.

Primed 4 times, key on - 38psi
At idle after stalling - rapid fluctuations 28-38, still jolts around
FPR line off - 36-46, jolts to about 48-50 now.

Sigh.... seems it's getting worse. Luckily I don't have much gas in the tank, about 1/4.

I think it's becoming obvious to you now what you have to do. Time to replace that fuel pump.
