Alirght my car is leaking oil off the oil filter area, The filter is tight, but the oil seems to be seeping or something from the lines going to the oil filter, anyone have any suggestions of were it could be leaking from other than the lines? If this makes any sense( series 1 supercharged)

thanks

Is the oil sending unit near the filter on a S1 L67? My guess would be sending unit, oil cooler lines if you have them, or the bolts that go to the filter adapter are loose.

Is it worth checking to see if maybe the gasket inside the oil filter may have slipped out of place or maybe the old rubber gasket is still there. Reason I ask is because I did an oil change once and I was in such a hurry that I didn't check if the old gasket came off. It took approximately 2000 miles before it started developing a leak.

As for the lines, I changed mine on the 90 SSE and had to get both the supply and return from the dealership. Other shops told me they could make them up but I had to give them the size, fitting type, length etc. Either that or just match up the old lines. I assume yours are going to the radiator?

I had the same problem. Mine was leaking from the oil cooler lines. Picked up some O.E.M. lines from the dealer and TADAHHH....no more leaks from there.

my oil filter always used to drip oil right up until I replaced the oil pan gasket, now that whole area is nice and dry.
