Ordered one off amazon at a pretty reasonable price. Finally got it installed after the painfully stubborn old one came loose and just realized that i dont think it has a "heat shield" the old one had one but it seems welded to the sensor. Does it matter much? the whole thing is pretty much metal anyway.

Never had a heat shield on mine,doesn't seem to me like it would do much anyway considering the location.The wires are the only thing I try to keep away from the heat and plug wires.

that is what I thought, the heat shield would get just as hot as without it. Thanks for the re-assurance .
