Year and Trim: 1995 Pontiac Bonneville
My Bonneville is a 1995...........not supercharged.

I am trying to locate a used engine but unsure how to find out what other Bonneville years will interchange with my 1995.

Help please!

If you are looking for a straight swap don't change anything.

Look at car-part.com. It shows compatible models and years.

Many others would work also by swapping some of engine accessories, brackets, etc.

For a zero work, straight drop in, only a 95 SE will drop right in.

Any series 2 L36 or series 3 L26 engine will work in your car but the work required varies

For a 95-99 H-body engine you swap over the original throttle body, knock sensors, rear exhaust manifold, and original wiring harness.
For a 2000-2003 H-body you swap over the same plus passenger motor mount, tensioner assembly, and oil filter bracket along with that.
For a 97-99 W-body, it would be the same as swapping in a 2000-2003 H-body but instead of swapping the tensioner, you would swap the coil pack bracket.
For a 2000-2003 W-body the same as a 97-99 W but add the tensioner assembly.

For any L26 2004+ 3800 Series III, It could be the same as either a 2000-2003 H or W but you'll also have to swap your stock upper intake manifold or updated dorman upper (recommended for less chance of failure).

The best option is the last but it requires the most work.

IMO, the L26 would be the best bet if you plan to keep the car.

You will have a pretty much bullet proof engine.
And they can be found cheaper with less miles because they are not in as high demand as the older engines are.
