Hello Im new to the forum and wanted to get some suggestions or tips about my 1995 Bonneville...
It was given to me a year ago to me from my father and it has had some issues in the past year.
First, when i got it i immediately put it into a shop and had all plugs, wires, coils, and ICM replaced because it had a sort of a miss/stall in the engine and also a long start. After replacing those it still had a miss/stall. I then replaced fuel filter and also ECM and the miss/stall went away but the long start stayed. Also with the long start i had to give the car gas in order for it to start and it would PUTT PUTT under the hood then start.
Well, recently i was on my way home and everything shut down and i had no power no start. I tried jumping it still no start. my mechanic came and put a starter, crank sensor, and battery then everything turned back on but still had long start. Today, i went to walmart and came back to my car and the car would not start again. This time the car has power (lights, radio) but it wont turn over. I dont know what else to do i love this car but im contemplating selling it. It has too many issues and now its costly. Anyone any suggestions/advice?

Does the security light stay on when it won't crank over?

I would test the fuel pressure at idle with and without the vacuum line hooked to the fuel pressure regulator.

Definitely check for correct fuel pressure 40-45 PSI running and increase with the FPR vacuum line disconnected. If it starts ok after sitting overnight but has long crank time and stalls at stops or low speed - look at the FPR for a diaphragm leak. If you see or smell gas from the FPR vacuum hose or connection replace the FPR

Alright fellas been a long time but im back i have recently changed the FPR and to no avail i have the same issue. I recently had a mechanic check my fuel pressure he pressed the valve at the FPR and my gas just leaked out. My past experience with mechanics or even myself pressing that valve should result in gas shooting out of it. He informed that my Fuel pressure sensor or "sending unit" is bad and i should have it changed next. He told me that i would have to drop the tank to reach it and replace. How does that sound to you guys? How easy is it to drop the tank? Do i really have to drop the tank?

Long start and pumping the pedal sound like the fuel line is draining back to tank through the sending unit(pump assembly in top of tank). Pre 2000 do not have an access panel in trunk. A new sending unit will likey fix the problem, preventing the fuel line from draining back to the tank.

What is the actual fuel pressure? Can your mechanic check that?

You do not have a fuel pressure sensor... You need to use a gauge to see what the pressure really is... Only thing in the tank is the fuel sending unit, you have the float for the fuel gauge and the Fuel pump... There are no sensors on, around or in the tank...

should hold pressure for at least about 30 min how long was it settingbefore ? yes- only way to know what is going on for sure is with a fuel pressure gauge test before dropping the tank to change a fuel pump and spend lots of $$

any codes? injectors ok? EGR, MAF cleaned? how many miles on the 95
