One of the torsion bars on my trunk lid broke, now the trunk wont pop open. Has this happened to anybody else, and if so , how did you fix it.
There's a junkyard in my town where they'll let you take parts out of junk cars.
Thanks.
Jaime.

Please don't post mechanical problems in General Chat. I'll move your topic to the proper section.

Our search function will find several recent topics for you. It's a dangerous job. Search terms should include trunk, spring, rod, etc, and you can limit your search to the 92-99 mechanical section where I'm moving this topic to.

Well, I got it fixed.
Can't believe how easy it is to fix. The hardest part about this was finding a junkyard that had the same model year. It only took me two junkyards.
Thanks, ACE in Peoria, IL.

May I ask how did you fix it? One of the ends of my torsion bar snapped and I've been looking for a way to fix it for forever lol.

This is a 3 1/2 year old thread. You should start a new one. But I use to dig up old threads too.

If you can't get one at www.gmpartsdirect.com or www.gmpartsclub.com, try LKQ or your local pick-a-part. One of mine broke several years back. Got a new one from the dealer, but wasn't strong enough to get it in. Had to have my mechanic do it. - BC
