That didn't work as expected, I unplugged the sensor, indicator still lit. Even connected a wire to create what I think would be a solid circuit from the line in to out and the indicator was still on. hmmmm. Other display functions except Lamp Module are fine.

That means you have a short to ground somewhere in your instrument panel. That could also be why your lamp monitor is on (if in fact all your lamps are good). Replacing the IP would be an easy test. You shorting the wire would cause the light to come on, that is why the test is to remove the sensor. That creates an open that should turn off the light. Dig up an IP and swap it in to test.

Dig up an IP? IP as in "Instrument Panel"? Dig up like "casually see if I have one in the shed"? hmm, problem with that for me is that by the time I locate and buy one I suspect I'd be as likely to trade off one malfunction for others unless I bought one new, in which case, it may not be a reasonable purchase (for this kid during these hard times). IP may also be "Internet Protocol" but I doubt it. Am I correct? you're suggesting I swap out the panel to see if that's it? Even if another panel had other issues, I might still learn from the experience. When time and money suggest alignment I'll keep it in mind. The logic sounds accurate, thanks for helping me see how this works. ;) I'll keep my eyes open for a panel, would be nice to have light sensors and a washer sensor I can trust.
