How come majority of the H bodies cooling fan doesnt work unless the ac is on? because My car and my aunt bonneville cooling fan does not comes on. even my neighbor lesabre does the same thing. What could be the problem. I already replace the cooling sensor temps and all the fuses. The Fan works only when i strait wire it.

Will the car overheat if it is setting still and running? What temp does it get up to?

That sounds perfectly normal. I know that may seem super hot, but that's the temp GM designed the car to operate at. Also remember that the stock gauges are terribly inaccurate.

Agreed, so far it sounds about right. The fans don't even kick on low until about 210*, and they hit high at around 225*. If it gets beyond that, there is a problem. To be sure you can just let it sit there and run until the fans come on. These motors usually let you get away with temperatures of 250*, but it is not good. Check it out, let us know.

If they are not on by 230*-240*, you then have a problem. You can always get the fans to turn on to cool it down right away by starting up the A/C if it gets too far.

The fans on my car didn't kick on until 210*F or so one hot summer day. They cooled the car to 195*, IIRC, then shut off.

It's easy enough to change the fan settings with a tuner.

Low speed comes on around the 210-212 area, High speed comes on right around 220-227...

The turn off is in the 208 area iirc...

As said with a tuner these temps can be changed..

If it actually doesn't come on, check the low speed fan relay. You can just swap it with the high speed fan relay and see if the symptoms change.

As you've already been told in this topic, you have to have your PCM tuned for it. Please read the replies above.

Then stop trying to argue with people who know what they are talking about more than you do, and stop being a smartass. Enough said.

santonio03, there is no need to act like this. All of us are trying to help you, and your attitude is not making us want to help you.

As both Jrs3800 and willwren said, you will need to have someone tune your PCM with DHP or HP Tuners to turn the fans on at a lower temperature, and you will also have to install a 180* thermostat to be able to see those lower temps.
