I have access to a 2000 N/A L36 3800 and was trying to make sure that I can put in my 1998 Bonneville wich has the same motor. Any comments, suggestions, or known issues would be appreciated.

Thanks, I thought the same thing. Should I use my 98 wiring harness and what items would I change over?

You will need

The 98 Harness

The 98 Throttle Body

The 98 Belt Tensioner so that you can use your alternator

You will have to attach your Torque Axis mount to the motor, if you look at the block The bolt hole/s for the Torque Axis mount may be plugged with a Torx Bolt, remove it and install the stud from your other motor...

You may need to use the 98 Exhaust manifolds, but I am not 100% certain on that...

Generally it will be a pretty forward swap

Thanks again, I really appreciate it! I am gettin up in years and have always worked on 60's and 70's muscle cars, this newer stuff can be a bit trickier unless you have been doing it for a while.

Any other input on the exhaust manifolds would be appreciated. Have a Great Day! :beerchug:

I am thinking that the rear Manifold may be a tad different in exit location to down pipe, but am Not 100% certain..

The only thing I can tell you to do there is to look at both motors, if they look identical in location then you should be good to go..

It depends on what the 2000 engine came out of. H-bodies use a different rear manifold than the W-bodies. So if you got the engine from a Grand Prix or Regal you will have to change it.

The motor is from a 2000 Bonneville (H body I believe), so I may not have to change it. I will look at it and measure to insure that is correct though. Thanks!
