I found these great instructions for the Series II engine. How different is it for my 1994 Series I Bonneville?

Series 1 is extremely easy. All you do is put a wrench on the one pulley can't rememer the name and just push or pull it belt will become loose and you can take it off. Where as the series 2 you have to take a spacer out of the motor mount to get the belt off.

I have heard good things about gatorbacks and I currently have one on my car and it took a crap real quick.

But if you want a good belt that will last a long time get a Gates Micro-V. It should be similar in price to the gatorback but IMO it is a better belt.

I have used gatorback belts in the past and had no issues with them. But in my store we have swapped goodyear for gates. I agree that the gates seem to be a step above the gatorbacks in quality. Had one on my 97 se for a few months, which is hardly enough time to judge how much I like it, but I "feels" like a good belt.

Idk. I have a gatorback on my car and a chunk came out of it and the back of the belt (the ungrooved side) is all nasty gouged up and what no but it has lasted about 7-8 months like that. But I have a new gates waiting to go on.
