3.8 ltr car wouldn't start, changed the ignition module and car started. Drove car around block and stopped car. Went to start car and it wouldn't start.... code 42 came up... any suggestions? Thanks. This is for my 1992 Buick Riviera...77K miles :helpsmilie:

The first thing to check is spark and fuel. You need to know which you're lacking.

The second thing to check is for the magnet in the timing gear. Remove the cam sensor and crank the motor around by hand. Do you see a black piece of plastic or a round empty hole about 1/2" in diameter? I'm assuming the car turns over but doesn't start?

Code 42 is more likely the crank sensor, IIRC. The cam sensor is 41, and not likely to prevent the car from starting.
