I am looking for an engine for my 1994 SSEi. I have found 2 for what I think is a good deal.
I know there are some advantages to the 95 engine but would I be better off going with it?
Any mods need to be made to get it to work in a '94?
Engines are 1995 PA Ultra with 97k for $300
or 1994 SSEi with 73k for $300.
So would the few extra miles on the '95 be more beneficial or should I just go with the lower mileage '94?

Also any mods or clean up tips or anything while the motor is out of the car.
What ever I do I will be at a minimum pulling top end off to do intake gaskets but that will prolly be the extent of it. May clean up block and paint and what not too....

Well, there's a good chance the PA engine wasn't driven as hard.

Yeah that's very true but not known for sure.
I was just wondering if there were any real benefits of getting the 95 motor?
And any modifications I would have to make to get it to work?

I think the L67 in 94 and 95 was the same, both having the Gen 3 m62 with teflon coated rotors, making the same power. I am not sure of any possible wiring differences though.

If it were me, I wouldn't even think twice and snag up the 94 SSEi engine. You already know there wont be any stupid little surprises that might cost more time or money to swap parts over.

$300 is a good deal, don't wait around. If you want the car to be fixed, don't pass it up.

I'm in no hurry this engine have been fo sale for about 9-10 months and the 1994 have been sitting for about 3 years now. So I'm definately in no hurry just waiting for te finances to be right. Hopefully Junish I'll be going to get this engine as it is about 6 hours away and get the 94 back onthe road.

Agreed I figured it had less miles an was exactly what I needed so that would be the better route but I've heard the 95 has a better crank? Or something different about it.

95 uses the Series II crank, which is lighter. If you install that, you'll need to remember that the flexplate and balancer are 95 specific.

'95 might have a lighter crank, but still rated same hp and tq as '94.
