You have OBD 1.5, basically OBD I hooked through an OBD II connector. 96 was the first year Bonnevilles had OBD II.

So when I go to O'reilys I need an OBD I scanner with the OBD II Connector....

Yes, or an OBD2 scanner that can read OBD1 codes. But with an OBD2 connector.

So that's why the OBD II scanner I bought just sits there and says "NO LINK" and nothing else...stupid 1995 SSEi! :angry4:

So in other words (to make sure I understand)...I have to buy an OBD I scanner, but have to find cables/connectors that will hook up into the OBD II connector I have under my dash...craziness!

I noticed that the pins on the OBD II scanner connector do not match the "sockets" perfectly on my under-dash connector. Hmmmmmmmm? :ack:

Or just sell the darn car as is or for parts...
