I just replaced the thermostat with a 195F. yesterday and was running around 195-200 like it should and now it's like 220 area now close to the red area... I thought it was the stupid gauges but a feel of the hoses no it's getting hot... WTH I'm planing on taking it to Seattle tomorrow but i can't with it heating up... should i get another thermostat beings i just bought it or can i drill a small hole... Need to know asap Thanks Jeff

How's the coolant level? It can drop quite a bit after heating & cooling a couple times.

Is all the air out? Smells like it needs bleeding again.

Learn from the mistakes of others, that way when you mess up you can do so in new and interesting ways.

Drilling shouldn't cause any problems except taking longer to warm up on cold winter mornings. Are you sure the radiator fans are coming on?

When you drill, drill one or two very small holes, and if two, place them at 180* from each other, and be sure to place one at the 12 o'clock position, the highest point, as that's where the air's going to want to go.

You may have a bad temperature sending unit.

Exactly my thought. Your gauge may not be trustworthy. Next time you're near Corvallis, stop by and we can run some tests on your temp sender and see if the PCM is seeing the same thing.

Just remember that if you don't have a scantool, I do. Usually a few spare parts hanging around, too.

Thanks for the offer willwren... I live right off hwy 34 before Lebanon so yeah would love to take you up on that offer... I've been wondering about the beastly Zilla I'd really like to see it since I have not seen it since you moved outta the Albany apts... I still have the Air Bag issue and the gauges are not correct so a lil look over would be really nice beings that this is my DD

Zilla is buried in the garage under a bunch of stuff, right where she's been since Woodburn in July. We can dig a hole though.
