Ouch is right! #-o

So I need a solution soon. :sad5:

My head doesn't hurt anymore and the inch and a half split will heal up just fine but now I've developed a phobia with trunk lids! #-o

Paul I can find one in a yard here from a green 94 SSEi and ship it up. The part will be cheap, but the shipping will not. But at least it will be fixed.

Yikes, Paul.
Sorry to hear yours actually got you.
Mine almost did when it first snapped. I heard the snap noise and instinctively pulled my head out right away. The lid slammed down with some awesome force, so it's pretty dangerous.

I'm going to wait until spring time to fix this problem, it's parked for the season now.

Explain to me how this works with the socket and extensions? I don't get it. Is this to turn the rods in order to disengage them from the brackets? I might hunt for a set from a wreckers.

Thanks,
Adam

The end of the spring that you can adjust goes into the open end of the socket extension (longer is more leverage) so I use a 24" extension. A rigid piece of pipe would work too, but make sure it's thick wall, like 1/2" black (gas) pipe or galvanized water pipe.

You'll want something else for leverage also, I use a large prybar in the other hand.

Well I have the price dropped this month to $3,600.

If I don't get a buyer by May then I'll consider actually trying to fix it.

Thanks for the offer Andrew and Matt. I'll let you know soon. If it doesnt sell by July, I'll be driving it to WCBF10.

This is a techinfo write-up that Sirius did on adjusting the springs. It shows how the extension is used, and give you an idea on how they can be removed.

That's a little different than the 92-99 (looks easier actually), but similar.

Good advice, and thanks for the link. Sirius is funny.
I'll update this in the spring time (ha ha, made a funny) and let you know how I fixed the springs.

Cheers,
Adam
