I'm looking to swap a gauge cluster with a tach into a non tack clustered 89 Olds Delta 88.Anyone know if a 87-91 Delta 88 came with a tachin the cluster? If not does the Buick Lesabre have a model with a tach in the gauge cluster?

I think the Bonneville cluster would'nt fit in the Delta 88 from the way it looks.

I don't think that the Lesabre cluster will fit the olds. The Olds cluster with a tach is standard on the 98 Touring Sedan model of those years (through 90) and should fit. However, you will probably need a whole new harness or to re-pin it at minimum. You will most likely need to run a wire to the coil pack for the tach signal. Depending on your current gages, you might also need temperature and oil pressure senders, not switches.

Lesabe cluster will not fit. Bonnie cluster will not fit.

As stated, you need a cluster from a Touring Sedan, which are few and far between unfortunately. The tach will probably work off the signal from the ECM but you will have to wire in the coolant temp and oil pressure senders (not to mention buying them and the housing for the oil pressure).

The UIM already has a tapped hole for the temp sender but its filled in with a bolt. The oil pressure sender is a matter of removing the current oil filter housing, getting one with a sender from a junkyard, buying a new sender as the old ones are notorious for going bad, and then wiring them.

You may or may not need to add pins to the wire harness but buying an electrical manual would tell you (`$20 off eBay).

Hmmm. Thanks for the info. Looks like I may just hook up an aftermarket tach instead then. Where would I connect the wire for an aftermarket one on the Delta 88?

There is a wire from the ECM that comes from the tach that you could splice into. I don't recall which one it is off the top of my head but if you searched for wire diagrams online you may find it. I found it when I was looking up how to install a remote start as they ues the tach to tell when the motor is on.
