I'd like to swap my front seats since the driver's seat shows more wear. They look to be identical, all the same controls and functions. However, I see underneath that they appear to be a right and a left based on the location of one of the visible motors. Are they interchangable? I have ordered a shop manual, but don't have it yet. Will it show me what I need to know? Any other pointers I should be aware of?

TIA, Rick

I bought a used passenger seat to replace my drivers seat. I was hoping it would fit identically but it's a little different. First, it sits about an inch or so towards the driver's side of the car and rubs slightly on the plastic that covers the lower part of the seatbelt. Second, I feel it sits a little higher but that may just be the new seat. Overall, I was happy with the swap.

On a side note, you will have to keep power to the seats in order to get the brackets off.

Good luck.

Got the shop manual today and learned that the two seats are not the same, but may yet be interchangeable. The difference is that the lumbar bladder air pump is in the right seat only, but feeds both seats. So the electrical plugs would be different on each side.

My question now is, can the seat cushions and backs be swapped, leaving the frames and motors in place? That may solve the problem mentioned by shutdown that the seats don't sit on the tracks quite the same. Different offset laterally. Maybe just swapping the cushions might work.

Anyone out there dealt with this?
