I've had issues with cheap or poor quality fuel pumps that will not pump gas when under 1/4 tank. I have never tried to diagnose the problem, just replaced the pump with a good quality one and moved on.

I do not recommend cutting a hole in the floor to get to the tank. The tank sending unit is very close to the floor pan and one slip means you cut the fuel lines (which is a fire risk).

Car has 3 year old and 10k miles drived pump so poor quality is one option. I have noticed that parts are getting worst every year and poor quality parts are often in markets.

Is there good part makers in low budjet? If we look all kind of car parts not just fuel pump.

I have cutted hole once in g20 van. Dremel with small disc will not sparkle or cut too deep ;)

Because if this happens again soon, its same tank drop etc again.

AC Delco EP378 is (I believe) original equipment. I've also had delphi, denso, and bosch fuel pumps. I think I've had an airtex pump at one point as well. But I wouldn't pay any less than $40 on a fuel pump (regular price on RockAuto). I have usually been able to find white label (ie, napa branded made by a name brand) on closeout when I need one, don't see any options for that on RA at the moment.

Always get a strainer that matches the fuel pump (ie, deplhi pump gets matching delphi strainer). There are I think three different strainer mounting configurations, and you can't mix and match them. It might also be a good idea to replace the pulsator as well.

Okay thanks!

We have to pay customs for product and shipping also. Thats reason for budget parts heh.. Rockauto is easiest and works well for international.

Can pulsator at itself do this kind of problems?

if the pump works fine until the level drops, maybe you have something that s floating in the tank and blocking the pump.

Tank is 3 years old like pump, and no much miles.

Tried to start car today, nothing. No pressure no start. And tank is now half full because i add fuel.

2 days ago i did pressure test, 0. Nothing else. 2 days before that it gived full 40psi in ignition on and engine running.

Pump was still today running with sound.

Today i waited wonder.

Plug pressure gauge and there was 40psi on first ignition on. It wont dropped when i tried to start.

Checked spark and there was spark.

It didnt started. Same kind situation like 0psi pressure.

Plugged maf ofd, no change.

Is spark equal (example 1 sec spark 1sec spark) or intermitted?

Timing lamp didnt flash continuesly, there was same rythm but it was like flashflash....flash...flashflash. If you know what i mean?

yeah, this engine is waste spark ignition. so, 2 cylinders fire at same time. check fuel pressure regulator. pull a plug or two and see how much fuel is there.

Can crankshaft sensor but injectors off but nor spark? Or will it allways take spark and injectors both off?

What causes can shut off injector (if fuel pressure is good).

I check fuel from plugs.

Regulator is fine and vacuum hose is dry (no fuel).

Hoh hoo....

I regonize something today. My chinese fuel pressure gauge hose and fitting is very accurate of how you tighten it. It shows 0psi then...

So... Lets make this kind of idea:

Couple 0psi time is only caused by loose hose...

And fuel pressure is been good all the time.

Plugs were wet so it gives fuel, spark is coming when in tried couple different plugs for different places on coil.

I checked fuses again, all good. Ecm reset doest effect, no fault codes...

Spark plug wires give 10-12k ohms new and old ones. Couple short ones 5-8k.

Rockauto sended me new ones. Napa 2992.

200k range they give 30-40.

Old ones and those which i switched 30miles ago gived 20k range just that 10-12 like my Chevrolet wires too.

Weird.

No. Old wires ( they were in car when i bought it) gived allmost run today. Car promises no just flat cranking.

Tomorrow i try new plug wires which are never been in car.

Then its must be coil if still same problem.

Timing lamp flashed on every wire ( i tested just near coil)

Checked in new wire and plug too.

Coil resistance was about 10.5 in every 3 "pairs".

Coil was dated 1989 so its original.
